A Local’s Guide to Durham Bulls Baseball
There are few things as synonymous with Durham as the Bulls. Even if you’re not a baseball fan, there’s something undeniable about the atmosphere found at the stadium. From the gorgeous green grass to the locally brewed beer to the snorting bull that promises free steak to anyone who strikes it, there’s truly no place like the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. If you’re hoping to attend your first game this season, keep these tips in mind:
Take Advantage of Promotion Nights
There are a number of exciting promotion nights scattered throughout baseball season. Take a gander at the schedule to plan the perfect night at the park. Bark in the Park nights are great for bringing your furry friends with you for some ball. Afforda-BULL games promise $2 hot dogs and sodas. You can even camp out in the outfield! There’s always something fun on the calendar, so refer back to it frequently – at the very least, you don’t want to miss out on fireworks.
Snag the Best Seats
There’s no such thing as a bad seat at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. If you’re eager to catch a foul ball or have the clearest view of the fireworks possible, though, it’s a good idea to buy seats in the 100-200 section. Prefer quick and easy access to the bathroom and concessions? Aim for a seat in sections 215-218. If you’re aiming for the best sunset views, go for a seat in the outfield. These are often some of the cheapest seats in the park, too!
Wear Your Walking Shoes
The Durham Bulls Athletic Park is a convenient 15 minute walk from the Vega. If you’re heading over for a game, be sure to wear a comfy pair of shoes. You can even make a night of it, grabbing drinks and food on the way over and after the game ends. This convenience can’t be understated; it’s one of the very best parts of living at the Vega! Of course, we won’t judge if you prefer to drive over. Parking in nearby garages will run about $7 per car.
