Known for its lively performances and dedicated audiences, this is the place to go for an authentic jazz club experience. A small, intimate venue with art-lined walls and great acoustics, Sharp 9 Gallery provides the ideal environment to enjoy some of the Triangle’s most talented performers. This non-profit space is passionate about sharing and developing jazz artists in the community. Cat’s Cradle

While this venue isn’t technically within Durham city limits, it’s a worthy inclusion on our list. Since its opening in 1969, the Cat’s Cradle has established itself as an institution in the NC music scene. Famed for fostering new talent, this nationally recognized venue has boasted many well-known musicians on their way to the top. Appealing to music fans of many different genres, notable acts have included early appearances from Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Public Enemy and John Mayer.
